Fall Photo Shoot
October 28th, 2010Trying to get this baby to sit still for more than 2 seconds while I snap a photo is getting more and more challenging. This time I figured I’d outsmart the little guy with a few bright orange pumpkins to hold his attention. They’re bright. They’re big. They make a cool hollow sound when you smack them with chubby little hands. They have a fun little stem on the top that you can poke with your little poker pointer finger. What could possibly be more interesting than these? Well, a rock. Yes, a rock. Pumpkins are so totally boring mom. Duh. A rock?! Now we’re talkin’.
Note the big rock in the photo. That’s my boy. 🙂
Happy Fall!
Love, Silas

1 Year
October 23rd, 2010It’s hard to believe. My baby is 1 year old now. He’s walking and talking. He smiles, waves, points and gives hi-5’s. He eats pizza. He pets Morgan. He knows how to use the TV remote. He claps when he’s excited and cuddles when he’s sad. He’s mesmerized by story-time and stroller runs. He seeks attention and appraisal. He shows off. He scrunches up his face when he’s angry. He knows that when the coffee timer goes off to yell “daa!” to remind dad that his coffee is done. He knows how to push mama’s buttons by trying to pretend like he touching something he’s not supposed to by gently waving his chubby fingers in front of the off-limits object. He tries so hard, everyday, to be his own little self with his own little thoughts and his own little actions. He’s turning into a little boy right before my eyes. Happy Birthday baby Silas.

Fall in Tucson
October 10th, 2010Finally, after a brutal summer the temperatures are reasonable again in Tucson. We’ve tried every method of training possible to stay in shape over the last few months and it’s been tough. With the last few weeks still in the triple digits motivation has been low. However, now the evening temps are cool and the woody is near prime. Let’s just hope it stays fall-like in Tucson.
