Movie watching

September 26th, 2015

Did some of this too on those hot hot days. Our local independent film theater did a whole week of free kids movies (with free popcorn!). We saw the Disney documentary “Bears”.

Cool Saturday Nights at the Desert Museum

September 25th, 2015

In the summer months the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum keeps it’s doors open until 10pm. And the kids are finally at the age where we can all enjoy being out that late without complete and utter kiddie-meltdown. Woohoo!

We did this quite a few times this summer. The museum lights up its paths with just enough light to not stumble off into the desert, and puts little night-lights in select habitats so one can see the nocturnal creatures that are usually snoozing during the day. And they also have themes for every Saturday. One of the nights we went on Astronomy Night where they set up multiple telescopes throughout the park. Very cool.

September 24th, 2015

Seth and Erin and their two kids came to Tucson. We did some climbing and sightseeing. But mostly stayed up waaaaay too late drinking and catching up after kids were all in bed. 😉

Backlog

September 22nd, 2015

I know, I know. This site is practically dormant! And it’s not because we haven’t been having any fun adventures, I swear! There’s been a lot going on this summer and I kinda let this get away from me. Good pics kept piling up and then it basically became a chore, or a “to-do” (gah!), because the backlog was so huge. Well, I’m remedying that here and now. Prepare yourselves for a glut of updates ladies and gentleman.

….(with many pics and very little verbiage, haha).

Mt. Lemmon Day

July 27th, 2015

A few pics from a Mt. Lemmon adventure this morning with the kids.

Ready to hike

Lunch

A nice spot to draw the landscape in the sketchbooks

Trailside rest

Little hikers. They’re so cute I can’t stand it!

…even when they tear gaping holes in their shorts and pick their noses

Meanwhile, mama has an ulterior motive: boulder scoping, heh heh.
