Best Buy Sucks
By following in Matt's footsteps I'll start my rant about getting raped by stuff. I'll start off with Best Buy. I turned in our video camera in late November of 2004, for cleaning. When I got it back, 6 weeks later it didn't work. The LCD screen had all kinds of problems and the camera didn't play back the mini dv tapes correctly. So, I sent it back again. Yesterday I got the camera back and of course, it doesn't work. When I took the camera back to Best Buy this evening I was told that you can't get a new camera until you get service for it 4 times. That's crazy! I asked, "Does this mean that I could potentially wait 4-6 months while the Best Buy service department works on my camera?" The dude said, "Yeah man. But if you didn't buy the service warranty then you'd be buying a new camera right now." I priced cameras on the way out of the store. Maybe we'll be shopping around for something to keep us filming for the bouldering season currently underway.
